Here’s some real talk as we roll into Thanksgiving week: you don’t need to “survive” the holidays — you just need a plan. Enjoy your food. Enjoy your family. Enjoy the traditions. Just don’t lose yourself in the chaos.
For busy parents and working adults, the holidays add layers — schedules change, routines get disrupted, kids are off school, work gets crazy, and suddenly sleep, meals, and stress feel out of control. That’s normal.
But consistency during this season isn’t about perfection. It’s about intention.
So here’s what we coach at Burn District:
1. Protein first. Make your first plate protein-forward. It keeps you full and stabilizes blood sugar.
2. Walk after big meals. Ten to fifteen minutes makes a massive difference.
3. Hydrate like it’s your job. Half your body weight in ounces daily, minimum.
4. Limit drinks to what you genuinely enjoy. Not the mindless ones.
5. Move your body. Even 20 minutes counts. Strength session, walk, bike — just don’t skip movement entirely.
6. Sleep when you can. It’s not perfect during the holidays — just protect it when possible.
Enjoy your holiday… intentionally.
And if you want accountability? We’ve got you.
This week’s challenge: Move every day and make one intentional nutrition decision — even on the busiest days.
